Are you ready for a second swap this year??

In our first swap we managed to send a few prints around the world, last one in was two beautiful prints by Paul that arrived in my mailbox just a couple of days ago. For me the exchange was very positive. My print was clearly not optimal, but friendly advice helped me to improve it radically, so personally I came very well out of it.

So for the second one.

I suggest we sign up for this one by posting comments to this post. Deadline is December 1. So if it is a bad time for you, and you can’t participate for this one, just say so in a comment. I would also welcome our new member, Manuele. I’m looking forward to see one of your prints.

So, as soon as you can after the deadline, please send your prints to everyone that takes part in the swap. Remember, the print can be one you want feedback on, one you can’t quite get, or just one you’re proud of. One print is the requirement, but if you want to send more, that’s ok, but don’t overdo it.

Also, if anyone manage to recruit another member before the deadline, just speak up. Still room for one more.

Obviously it is difficult to just send new prints back and forth based on feedback, but I have made a few corrections based on our little discussion. Compare it with the print and the other web version and tell what you think.

To get things going, I would suggest we push for a second exchange by the end of this year, but before that I think we should try to raise the number to at least 5. We haven’t seen much of Paul (Hello Paul, can you hear us). Probably just a stack overflow, but if he’s out we have room for 3 more, else it is 2.

So, I’m open for suggestions…

First one out. Well not exactly, Martins print actually showed up in the mail today. Mine went to the mailbox today.

This is a print I’m working these days. I find it challenging to pinpoint the right mood. Keeping the dim atmosphere without making the print dark and muddy. The prints I have made now is maybe more on the lighter side. Anyway, please feel free to comment on other stuff as well once it arrives in the mail.

So, no more waiting. The first exchange starts around now. I will encourage all participants to leave their mailing address as soon as possible (send me an email if you don’t know where), and to prepare their prints for shipment before September 15.

So far I’ve spoken with Doug Stockdale, Roberth Hoehne and Martin Doonan. Paul Butzi was interested but haven’t checked in yet. We’ll see.

Update:

Seems like Doug had to stand back due to a busy schedule, which is perfectly understandable. Paul just emailed me to tell he is in. That makes us 4, and still room for 2 more.

Nice if we manage to recruit 2 more for this exchange, but still not essential. If you know someone who could be interested, please show them the site.  I will not keep a monopoly on inviting people.

In case there are more than two interested, the first come first served principle is valid. And “First come”, is measured by the arrival of an email in my mailbox telling they are interested  (web-contact (that-curly-a) lentic (dot) net)

Right now the header image is the default for the template. If anyone has a more appropriate, please speak up.

Update:

I removed the current banner image, but I still think there should be something up there.

I have just set up this blog, and have yet to go through the invitation process. At the moment there are 4 interested photographers in addition to myself, which leaves room for one more. Or more than one if not all of the four wants to join after all.
